Innovation - Unisex Hair & Beauty has been a staple hair and beauty salon of the Swanage community, with over 70 years of hairdressing and beauty expertise. We offer a comprehensive range of hairdressing services for both men and women. Our hair stylists specialise in Cutting, Colouring and Brazilian Blowdry Hair Straightening and also offer a wide range of other hair services which we also excel at. Our beauty services include make-up, facial waxing, eyebrow lamination and tinting, eyelash lifting and tinting and manicures with the popular Gellux polish. For those looking to add a touch of style, we offer nose and ear piercings.
As members of the National Hair and Beauty Federation and The Hair Council, we adhere to the highest industry standards. NICKY
Senior Director Stylist, Salon Owner, Managing Director
Hi, I’m Nicky. I am a Senior Director Stylist at Innovation - Unisex Hair & Beauty, the Salon Owner and the Company’s Managing Director. I was trained by Roger Morgan, the salon’s founder. I left the salon and moved to Portsmouth when I married a Swanage man whose job was in the Royal Navy. I spent some years living and working in salons in Portsmouth and then returned to Swanage to live with my husband and three children when my husband retired from his naval career. I’m a State Registered Hairdresser and a Master Craftsman of my trade. I have owned this salon for 22 years and am still passionate about my craft, even after over 47 years in this industry! I love passing on my vast knowledge, gained through many years of experience within this industry, to those joining it and watching them grow into such fantastic hairdressers. I am immensely proud of my team here at Innovation - Unisex Hair & Beauty and the high standard of work they produce for our clients – it’s so rewarding. I love taking time out from my responsibilities as a salon owner by chilling abroad in the sun or shopping till I drop, before having a nice lunch and then a trip to the theatre. I also love spending time with my family and five grandchildren.

Senior Director Stylist
Hi, I’m Sal, and I am a Senior Director Stylist at Innovation - Unisex Hair & Beauty. I started hairdressing because my school friend Nicky, made it sound so interesting! I studied both hairdressing and beauty courses full-time at college before I came to work at this salon and I’m still here, over 43 years later! I am also trained as a teacher of my craft and taught hairdressing for many years at the local college in Bournemouth. I’m passionate about my craft, embracing new ideas and techniques. I have two grown-up children, so I now have time to relax a little. Apart from doing this, I enjoy going on holidays to some exotic locations with my husband and also meeting up with my old school friends every week.
KIRSTEN
Senior Director Stylist
Hi, I’m Kirsten, Nicky's daughter, and I am a Senior Director Stylist at Innovation - Unisex Hair & Beauty. Having watched my Mother over the years whilst I grew up, I too wanted to get trained in the hair and beauty Industry. At 13, I became a Saturday girl at the salon, but I also wanted to undergo beauty training. I studied beauty full-time at college before coming back to the salon to do my hairdressing apprenticeship. After completing my training, I worked at other salons to gain more experience. I came back here to help out my mother and have been working here ever since. I am also a qualified assessor, so I am very involved in the training and assessing of our apprentices at the salon. I’m passionate about my craft and love doing hair colouring and bridal and prom hair in particular. I am now training to be a commercial hairdressing teacher. I am also qualified and licensed by Dorset Council to do nose and ear piercings and have been piercing for over 18 years now. I love pugs and cars, knowing a lot more about cars than a lot of men I know! I just love to go on holidays in the sun when I can, and I love being a mum to my son and daughter.

Master Stylist
Hi, I’m Kira, a master stylist at Innovation - Unisex Hair & Beauty. I trained here at the salon and having gained both my NVQ 2 and NVQ 3, I am now a very busy stylist. I lead and coordinate all wedding bookings and also provide nail and beauty services. I also do a lot of the creative colouring in the salon, which I really enjoy. Outside of work, I love to spend time with my boyfriend and our dogs, and I also love to go shopping!

Master Colourist and Advanced Stylist
Hi I’m Faith and I’m the newest member of the Team, having previously worked in Poole based salons, before coming to Innovation.
I am a Master Colourist and an Advanced Stylist and I absolutely love doing colour work, but also love cutting hair too. I completed both my Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications in Hairdressing with Distinction. I recently completed my VRO Level 2 in Barbering and am now a fully qualified Barber. I am now looking forward to developing more skills in the future. I absolutely love the Hairdressing Industry and really enjoy working in the salon, but out of work I love spending time with my family and friends.
TAMZIN
Advanced Stylist
Hi, I’m Tamzin, an advanced stylist at Innovation - Unisex Hair & Beauty. Having completed my apprenticeship here at Innovation - Unisex Hair & Beauty, I completed both my Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications in Hairdressing. I love doing colouring, I especially enjoy doing creative colouring and Brazilian Blow Drys. I am also very involved in our wedding bookings and really enjoy doing hair up for special occasions. I am also qualified and licensed by the Dorset Council to do nose and ear piercings and I love doing it too! Out of work - I enjoy spending time with my boyfriend and my family and just love to go shopping!

Hi, I’m Leah, a fully qualified stylist at Innovation - Unisex Hair & Beauty. I have my Level 2 in Hairdressing and am now studying for my Level 3 Advanced Hairdressing qualification. I offer a range of services here at Innovation and really enjoy doing colour work and especially love putting hair up for Weddings and Proms and other special occasions. I am now also qualified and licensed by the Dorset Council to do nose and ear piercings, and I am really enjoying doing it too! Outside of work, my hobbies are dancing and spending time with my friends and family.

Apprentice
Hi, my name is Charlotte. I’ve recently left school to embarked on my career in the Hair and Beauty Industry and am really looking forward to starting it here, at Innovation. I will be studying at the Francesco Academy in Poole to gain my Level 2 in Hairdressing, whilst serving my Apprenticeship at Innovation.
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and friends, but also love to go paddle boarding and shopping.
